Yoga
Yoga helps the body and the mind in many ways :)
The term yoga derives from the root "yuj" meaning "yoke" or "to join" or "union"
Yogas citta vrtta nirodah - "Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind" -Patanjali's Yoga Sutra.
"Yoga is clear, discerning, dynamic participation in one's life" Bhagavad Gita.

Physical Benefits of Yoga
Dynamic activities like yoga increase blood flow through the body, which heats and loosens connective tissue. Heat enhances the tissue's ability to soften and relax so it is beneficial to stretch after the muscles have been warmed up. Due to the nature of the connective tissue and the facial matrix throughout the body, yoga can work one area of the body while positively affecting another.
With the complimentary muscular length and strength benefits of yoga, a balanced (right and left side) yoga practice can improve posture and structural alignment by balancing the muscular and soft-tissue tension pulling on opposite sides of a joint. Yoga helps to build multi-joint coordination, and with increased pull at muscle-tendon-bone attachment sides, yoga can increase a person's bone density.
